Baker Tilly comprehensively advised the fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg with headquarters in Düsseldorf and Vienna on diverse aspects of the acquisition of the Danish department store chain Magasin du Nord. The department store chain based in Copenhagen had belonged to the British Debenhams Group since 2009 and was sold as part of a structured bidding process.
The interdisciplinary advisory services of Baker Tilly's Competence Center Transactions consisted essentially of an integrated financial and tax due diligence as well as the tax structuring of the deal. An international team of Baker Tilly experts from Munich and Copenhagen worked closely together.
The team of transaction services professionals around the Munich partners Oliver Hubertus (Tax), Frank Stahl (Financial) and Uwe Roth (Tax) included Sebastian Hafner and Matus Bonko (both Financial), as well as the Danish tax expert Lars Brandt and his colleagues from Baker Tilly Denmark (Tax).
