Dortmund, June 05, 2024 – Materna Group has relied on an international Baker Tilly team from Germany and India to provide tax advice on the sale of its subsidiary Materna IPS (Intelligent Passenger Solutions) to SITA, a leading global provider of technology solutions for the aviation industry. With the sale, Materna is pursuing the strategic goal of positioning itself at the forefront of technological change by focusing on innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
German and Indian tax advice was provided by the international team led by tax advisor Karl-Heinz Linnenberg and tax advisor Sarah Sporckmann. The law firm SSP-LAW, led by the team of attorney-at-law Dr. Michael Schmidt-Versteyl, advised Materna on the legal aspects of the transaction, while Materna received inhouse legal support from Dr. Bünnemeyer and Sabine Schemann.
This transaction is expected to be completed in the coming months, subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authorities.
