Baker Tilly announces another notable recruitment at the start of the year: As of January 1, 2022, the renowned insolvency administrator and specialist lawyer for insolvency as well as banking and capital markets law, Dr. Alexander Fridgen (49), moved with his entire team to Baker Tilly's Munich office. This includes, in particular, insolvency administrator Dr. Dejan Markovic, who will start at Baker Tilly as a Director.
Most recently, Dr. Fridgen worked for ten years at SPLIEDT Rechtsanwälte, a law firm specialized in insolvency administration, for which he established and managed the Munich office. With the recruitment of Dr. Fridgen, Baker Tilly will offer legal and business restructuring advice from a single source and at the highest level not only in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Düsseldorf, but also in Munich.
"With Dr. Alexander Fridgen, we are pleased to have gained a well-known and highly respected restructuring and insolvency law expert, together with his team, who will be able to support our clients throughout all restructuring and insolvency phases," said Dr. Thomas Gemmeke, Managing Partner Legal at Baker Tilly.
"With Dr. Fridgen and Dr. Markovic, we are expanding our range of highly professional out-of-court and in-court restructuring services and are now also present in this field in the south of Germany," adds Finn Peters, specialist lawyer for insolvency law and partner responsible for this area at the Hamburg office.
Dr. Fridgen's career began in 2000 at the law firm Brinkmann und Partner in Berlin, before he joined the Munich law firm Nachmann in 2006 and SPLIEDT in 2011. As author of numerous professional articles and publications, Dr. Fridgen is also co-editor of “Beck'sche Online-Kommentare” on insolvency law and the German Corporate Stabilization and Restructuring Act (StaRUG). The handbooks are considered an important – and, due to their quarterly updates, the most up-to-date – standard work for practice and science. He is also a lecturer in insolvency law at Hagen Law School and in conflict management at FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences.
